Once upon a time, there was Diego Zanesco, a mountain guide since the 1980s, and—what feels like light-years ago—there was me, raised in my family’s bus company and travel agency.
Diego and I had always carried the essence of each other’s passions within us—while he spent his younger years organizing mountain tours and expeditions, I devoted all my free time to exploring the mountains. After our wedding, it felt only natural to take the next step and collaborate professionally. In 2018, we brought our shared life and experiences together to create the agency Enrosadira.
The years we shared were intense and incredibly enriching. After Diego’s passing on July 30, 2023, I took over the leadership of the agency. It feels a bit like I’m now leading the climb with the rope at the sharp end. The fear was immense, but I knew Diego had already taught me everything I needed, and I feel ready for the task.
Above all, I find strength in the incredible team Diego brought together over the years—mountain guides, ski instructors, hiking guides, cycling guides, city guides, office colleagues and many more. They are not only dedicated partners who continue to work with the agency but also dear friends, to Diego and, now, to me.
